Caring For Your Atelier Meringue Wig

  • While durable enough to withstand brushing and styling, my alpaca wigs are still delicately hand crafted and require small maintenance over the time you own it.
  • Heat styling is ok! Please keep your tools on the lowest heat setting to protect the hair from damage.
  • Do not wash! My materials are water soluble, meaning if you soak your wig it is likely to fall apart. However, using a small spray bottle to tame flyaways for photos is just fine. Gentle mist will not soak the wig to the point of damage, nor will it have any harm to your resin doll.
  • Conditioning! As the wig gets older, the fiber may appear drier due to the use of heat tools. A shine spray can bring back life into the hair, but this should be done holding the wig off your doll so the fresh oils do not damage the resin or faceup. Give it a light mist, brush through, and once dry place it back on your doll.
  • A clean toothbrush is your wig’s best friend! Soft bristles gently move the hair where you need it, whether that be off your doll’s face or brushing bangs back into place.
  • Dryer sheets fight static! Whether it be hot weather, humidity, or even the friction from your handy toothbrush, dryer sheets can smooth the alpaca fiber back into place.
  • Slippery wig? Roll a small piece of washi or gentle masking tape to adhere to your doll’s head. Poster tack will suffice in colder weather, but hot climates can cause the tack to melt into your wig cap and warp it.
